What could be the new South Korean solid-fuel
missile ?

2022. December 30
-- South Korea successfully conducted a second test flight of a solid-fuel
space launch vehicle, the defense ministry said..
The state-run Agency for Defense Development (ADD) carried out the test as
part of efforts to strengthen "independent" space-based reconnaissance and
surveillance capabilities, according to the ministry.
2022, March 30 -- The National Defense Science Research Institute (ADD)
succeeded in the first test launch to verify the performance of a solid-state
propulsion space launch developed with purely Woori technology, with the presence
of the Secretary of Defense and major figures from each county at the National
Defense Science Research Institute.
Analysis: This likely two-stage missile
was launched from a platform in the sea, documented in the released video.
What is noticeable was the speed that built up only slowly after the start,
which, in relation to the take-off weight of this small rocket, indicates
a low thrust.
This leads me to ussume that the solid-fuel motor (KM) used from the KSLV-1.
This motor has a diameter of 1.0 m and a thrust of about 70 kN with a burning
time of 58 seconds. With this assumption, the new missile has a length of
about 6.2 m. The long fairing, which is supposed to guarantee aerodynamic
stability, is also striking. The small solid-fuel motor (AKM), which was used
for the KSR-III, would be considered as the second stage. In order to be suitable
as a launcher for satellites, however, this projectile requires an additional
booster as first stage (possibly
an extended Naro KM-motor).
